2012年11月15日，十八屆中央委員會(huì )舉行第一次全體會(huì )議，選舉產(chǎn)生新一屆中央領(lǐng)導核心。黨的十八屆一中全會(huì )選舉習近平為中央委員會(huì )總書(shū)記，選舉習近平、李克強、張德江、俞正聲、劉云山、王岐山、張高麗為中央政治局常委，新一屆中央政治局常委在人民大會(huì )堂同中外記者見(jiàn)面。中共中央總書(shū)記習近平逐一介紹了新當選的其他6位中央政治局常委并發(fā)表講話(huà)，以下為講話(huà)實(shí)錄：

| 昨天，中國共產(chǎn)黨第十八次全國代表大會(huì )勝利閉幕了。這些天來(lái)，各位記者朋友們對這次大會(huì )作了大量報道，向世界各國傳遞了許多“中國聲音”。大家很敬業(yè)、很專(zhuān)業(yè)、很辛苦，在此，我代表十八大大會(huì )秘書(shū)處，向你們表示衷心的感謝。 | The Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China came to a successful conclusion yesterday. During the past several days, you have extensively covered the congress and let the world hear China's voice. On behalf of the Secretariat of the congress, I wish to express our sincere thanks to you for your professionalism, dedication and hard work. |
| 剛才，我們召開(kāi)了中國共產(chǎn)黨第十八屆中央委員會(huì )第一次全體會(huì )議，會(huì )議上選舉產(chǎn)生了新一屆中央領(lǐng)導機構。全會(huì )選舉產(chǎn)生了七位中央政治局常委，選舉我擔任中共中央總書(shū)記。接下來(lái)，我把其他6位常委同事向大家介紹一下。他們是：李克強同志、張德江同志、俞正聲同志、劉云山同志、王岐山同志、張高麗同志。李克強同志是十七屆中央政治局常委，其他同志都是十七屆中央政治局委員，大家對他們都比較了解。 | We have just held the First Plenary Session of the Eighteenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of?China and elected a new central leadership; and I was elected General Secretary of the Party Central Committee by the plenary session. Now, I wish to introduce to you the other six newly elected members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau. They are: Comrade Li Keqiang, Comrade Zhang Dejiang, Comrade Yu Zhengsheng, Comrade Liu Yunshan, Comrade Wang Qishan and Comrade Zhang Gaoli. Comrade Li Keqiang was a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Seventeenth Party Central Committee, and all the others were members of the Political Bureau of the Seventeenth Party Central Committee. I believe their names are familiar to you. |
| 在這里，我代表新一屆中央領(lǐng)導機構成員，衷心感謝全黨同志對我們的信任。我們一定不負重托，不辱使命！ | Here, on behalf of the members of the newly elected central leadership, I wish to express our heartfelt thanks to all other members of the Party for the great trust they have placed in us. | 這個(gè)重大的責任，是對民族的責任。我們的民族是偉大的民族。在五千多年的文明發(fā)展歷程中，中華民族為人類(lèi)的文明進(jìn)步作出了不可磨滅的貢獻。近代以后，我們的民族歷經(jīng)磨難，中華民族到了最危險的時(shí)候。自那時(shí)以來(lái)，為了實(shí)現中華民族偉大復興，無(wú)數仁人志士奮起抗爭，但一次又一次地失敗了。中國共產(chǎn)黨成立后，團結帶領(lǐng)人民前赴后繼、頑強奮斗，把貧窮落后的舊中國變成日益走向繁榮富強的新中國，中華民族偉大復興展現出前所未有的光明前景。我們的責任，就是要團結帶領(lǐng)全黨全國各族人民，接過(guò)歷史的接力棒，繼續為實(shí)現中華民族偉大復興而努力奮斗，使中華民族更加堅強有力地自立于世界民族之林，為人類(lèi)作出新的更大的貢獻。 | We have taken on this important responsibility for our nation. Ours is a great nation. Throughout five thousand years and more of evolution as a civilization, the Chinese nation has made indelible contribution to the progress of human civilization. In modern times, however, China endured untold hardships and sufferings, and its very survival hung in the balance. Countless Chinese patriots rose up one after another and fought for the renewal of the Chinese nation, but all ended in failure. Since its founding, the Communist Party of China has made great sacrifices and forged ahead against all odds. It has rallied and led the Chinese people in transforming the poor and backward old China into an increasingly prosperous and powerful new China, thus opening a completely new horizon for the great renewal of the Chinese nation. Our responsibility now is to rally and lead the entire Party and the people of all ethnic groups in China in taking over the relay baton passed on to us by history, and in making continued efforts to achieve the great renewal of the Chinese nation, make the Chinese nation stand rock-firm in the family of nations, and make even greater contribution to mankind. |
| 這個(gè)重大的責任，就是對人民的責任。我們的人民是偉大的人民。在漫長(cháng)的歷史進(jìn)程中，中國人民依靠自己的勤勞、勇敢、智慧，開(kāi)創(chuàng )了民族和睦共處的美好家園，培育了歷久彌新的優(yōu)秀文化。我們的人民熱愛(ài)生活，期盼有更好的教育、更穩定的工作、更滿(mǎn)意的收入、更可靠的社會(huì )保障、更高水平的醫療衛生服務(wù)、更舒適的居住條件、更優(yōu)美的環(huán)境，期盼著(zhù)孩子們能成長(cháng)得更好、工作得更好、生活得更好。人民對美好生活的向往，就是我們的奮斗目標。人世間的一切幸福都是要靠辛勤的勞動(dòng)來(lái)創(chuàng )造的。我們的責任，就是要團結帶領(lǐng)全黨全國各族人民，繼續解放思想，堅持改革開(kāi)放，不斷解放和發(fā)展社會(huì )生產(chǎn)力，努力解決群眾的生產(chǎn)生活困難，堅定不移走共同富裕的道路。 | We have taken on this important responsibility for the people. Our people are a great people. During the long course of history, the Chinese people have, working with diligence, bravery and wisdom, created a beautiful homeland where all ethnic groups live in harmony, and developed a great and dynamic culture. Our people have an ardent love for life. They wish to have better education, more stable jobs, more income, greater social security, better medical and health care, improved housing conditions, and a better environment. They want their children to have sound growth, have good jobs and lead a more enjoyable life. To meet their desire for a happy life is our mission. It is only hard work that creates all happiness in the world. To fulfill our responsibility, we will rally and lead the whole Party and the people of all ethnic groups in China in making continued efforts to free up our minds, carry out reform and opening up, further release and develop the productive forces, work hard to resolve the difficulties the people face in both work and life, and unwaveringly pursue common prosperity. |
| 這個(gè)重大的責任，就是對黨的責任。我們的黨是全心全意為人民服務(wù)的政黨。黨領(lǐng)導人民已經(jīng)取得了舉世矚目的成就，我們完全有理由因此而自豪，但我們自豪而不自滿(mǎn)，決不會(huì )躺在過(guò)去的功勞薄上。新形勢下，我們黨面臨著(zhù)許多嚴峻挑戰，黨內存在著(zhù)許多亟待解決的問(wèn)題。尤其是一些黨員干部中發(fā)生的貪污腐敗、脫離群眾、形式主義、官僚主義等問(wèn)題，必須下大氣力解決。全黨必須警醒起來(lái)。打鐵還需自身硬。我們的責任，就是同全黨同志一道，堅持黨要管黨、從嚴治黨，切實(shí)解決自身存在的突出問(wèn)題，切實(shí)改進(jìn)工作作風(fēng)，密切聯(lián)系群眾，使我們的黨始終成為中國特色社會(huì )主義事業(yè)的堅強領(lǐng)導核心。 | We have taken on this important responsibility for the Party. Our Party is dedicated to serving the people. It has led the people in making world-renowned achievements, and we have every reason to take pride in these achievements. But we are not complacent, and we will never rest on our laurels. Under the new conditions, our Party faces many severe challenges, and there are also many pressing problems within the Party that need to be resolved, particularly corruption, being divorced from the people, going through formalities and bureaucratism caused by some Party officials. We must make every effort to solve these problems. The whole Party must stay on full alert. To address these problems, we must first of all conduct ourselves honorably. Our responsibility is to work with all the comrades in the Party to uphold the principle that the Party should supervise its own conduct and run itself with strict discipline, effectively solve major problems in the Party, improve our conduct, and maintain close ties with the people. By doing so, we will ensure that our Party will remain at the core of leadership in advancing the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics. |
| 人民是歷史的創(chuàng )造者，群眾是真正的英雄。人民群眾是我們力量的源泉。我們深深知道：每個(gè)人的力量是有限的，但只要我們萬(wàn)眾一心，眾志成城，就沒(méi)有克服不了的困難；每個(gè)人的工作時(shí)間是有限的，但全心全意為人民服務(wù)是無(wú)限的。責任重于泰山，事業(yè)任重道遠。我們一定要始終與人民心心相印、與人民同甘共苦、與人民團結奮斗，夙夜在公，勤勉工作，努力向歷史、向人民交一份合格的答卷。 | It is the people who have created history, and it is the people who are true heroes. The people are the source of our strength. We are well aware that the capability of one individual is limited. But when we are united as one, we will create an awesome power and we can certainly overcome all difficulties. One can only work for a limited period of time, but there is no limit to serving the people with dedication. Our responsibility is weightier than Mount Tai, and our road ahead is a long one. We must always be of the same mind with the people and share the same destiny with them, and we must work together with them and diligently for the public good so as to live up to the expectations of both history and the people. |
| 記者朋友們，中國需要更多地了解世界，世界也需要更多地了解中國。希望你們今后要繼續為增進(jìn)中國與世界各國的相互了解作出努力和貢獻。 | Friends from the press, just as China needs to learn more about the world, so does the world need to learn more about China.
